What is Royal Family Kids Camp?

RFK is a local faith-based non profit that provides a week-long overnight summer camp for children ages 6 to 12 who are suffering from trauma caused by abuse, neglect and abandonment many of which are in foster care. For many of these children, their week at RFK is the first time in their lives that they hear the word of God, have 3 full meals and healthy snacks each day, see healthy relationships, sleep safely through the night, and feel security, warmth and love from dedicated adult care-givers without being abused. We serve children in Johnson and surrounding counties in Arkansas. Our camp is the last week in July.

Our Mission...

The mission of RFK is to transform our local community by interrupting cycles of neglect, abuse, and abandonment of children in the foster care system. Too often these children find themselves on paths to academic failure, drug abuse, teen pregnancy, sex trafficking, homelessness, and incarceration. At our summer camps and mentoring programs staffed by Christian volunteers, dedicated to changing the trajectory of these young lives, we strive to plant seeds of hope, happiness, and wholeness. By helping to heal the scars of the past, we hope to help these children transform into resilient adults with the ability to overcome challenges and be successful and healthy members of our community.

Abused Children in your area need your help!

The ugly and uncomfortable truth of child abuse is hard to bear.  Every day millions of innocent children face abuse, abandonment, and neglect as a fact of life.

* 3.2 MILLION kids in America are abused each year

* 30% of abused and neglected children will later abuse their own children

* 1 in 7 Americans are sexually abused as children

* 60% of children rescued from sex trafficking were in the foster care system

* Average age for girls entering the sex trade is 12!

* Average age of children involved in prostitution when recovered by law enforcement is 14.

HELP US BREAK THIS CYCLE!

Why choose Royal Family Kids Camp?

Because regardless of how these kids have been treated in the past, we get the opportunity to introduce them to our heavenly Father who loves them more than anything. As children of the King, they are princes and princesses, and it is our delight to treat them royally while providing many first-time experiences like learning to ride a bike, having s’mores around the campfire, or enjoying a birthday party where they are celebrated. Our hope is that each child will feel safe, loved, and worthy, and that they will continue to return as a camper, or even a counselor in the future.

WE ARE 100% DONATION-BASED AND 100% VOLUNTEER-RUN.

Camp #313 Information:

We are thankful to partner with churches, businesses and individuals within the community that we serve.

Our goal each year is to take 30 campers but that number depends on how many volunteers donate their time.

During our summer 2024 camp we served 28 children from Johnson and 9 surrounding counties in Arkansas.  We had 37 full time volunteers and 3 part time volunteers came from 19 difference churches. Several of our volunteers were former foster kids and are able to share their experiences. Our kids have begun to understand that they matter. Each moment has been orchestrated to give them a greater chance of overcoming the statistics that often plague those who age out of foster care.

We are very thankful for the many people that helped in every way to be able to have camp. 9 churches, 3 organizations, and 1 company donated supplies and financial help along with 7 families!

Our kids are why we do what we do, but YOU are the how. You are the essential piece of the puzzle that allows this intervention to happen and helps create spaces where children from hard places feel heard, valued, and feel that their voice MATTERS. Your support is what makes all of this possible and allows us to think broader, dream bigger, and challenge ourselves to grow more in our ability to care for these amazing souls.

Thank you!
